Photographing Chiselwood’s Eco Homes

Though I typically focus on architecture and interiors photography, I had the opportunity to step outside my usual scope for a portrait photography session with Fiona Bateman Interiors. Fiona, originally from the UK and now relocating back from the States, reached out to have some portraits taken for her new website.

Portrait photography is not my usual area of expertise, so I embraced the challenge and refreshed my skills with a bit of YouTube research. The shoot took place at Scene Photography Studios in Nottingham, a fantastic location with great staff and varied spaces perfect for different looks.

Our shared experiences of living in the US made the session even more enjoyable, from exchanging stories about pets, business relocation tips, to the culinary dishes we’d miss.

Fiona’s brief focused on creating a mix of staged and candid portraits for her website, as well as design-oriented shots showcasing her interior design expertise. With so many diverse spaces at Scene, I was able to capture a variety of looks to ensure the content felt fresh and dynamic.
